The LST Level 4 fashion design and technology designed to provide students with the skills and learning that will help them identify and develop their future progression in the industry. The skills developed through this qualification may also support students directly into employment in the various creative industries.
This qualification is designed to provide students with an overview of the creative industry. This qualification will provide students with an opportunity to expand and improve their practical skillslevels while also defining their interests and area of expertise. It will establish a range of creative approaches to learning used within a higher education context and will allow students to explore thevariety of resources that will support their industry-based or educational career.
The course is Built with the understanding of the challenging environment of today's fashion industry, which is why the course develops multi-skilled individuals who have a broad overview of the creative, technological and cultural aspects of fashion. The curriculum is designed to give students this broad spectrum in combination with an opportunity to study some aspects of the fashion process in more depth. Specifically, their ability to evaluate and manage their learning and will equip students with the wider professional, communication and business skills needed.
This qualification is not time-constrained, but will typically be completed over a 12-month period full time.

This qualification aims to enable students to:
- Develop performance skills appropriate for entry into the creative industries.
- Define artistic ambitions and professional progression opportunities.
- Build a professional portfolio while working on creative projects.
- Achieve a globally-recognised Level 4 qualification.
To be awarded with LST Level 4 Diploma in fashion design and technology students must pass the following five mandatory units:
- Unit 1 - Fashion design process : Develop the importance of research as a basis for creative design development and investigate the translation of research ideas into fashion products
- Unit 2 - Business of fashion: Introduction to business and management processes and skills that characterise successful fashion organisations
- Unit 3 - Sustainable fashion: Introduce the subject of sustainability through the exploration as a catalyst for conceptual design development.
- Unit 4 - Shape project: Introduce the principles of trend mapping and forecasting skill
- Unit 5 - Final personal project: Demonstrate their learning through the development and construction of a project proposal.
A UK awarding body awards our qualifications under the ECAS scheme approved by SQA Accreditation, one of the national qualification regulators in the United Kingdom which is accepted globally. On completion of the course, students will receive a level 4 award with 120 credits. Students will also receive a certified diploma from LST, accredited by British Accreditation Council.
Students will also have the opportunity to develop their portfolios in London and attend the LST Certification Ceremony at House of Commons in London.
RECOMMENDED ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:
Students should be a minimum of 17 years of age.
United Kingdom:
Minimum of 5 GCSEs grades A-C (9-4 on the new grading system) and level 3 qualifications, including A levels, NVQ/SVQ Level 3, or a BTEC National. Some will expect or require applicants to have subjects related to the particular apprenticeship.
India:
Successful completion of the Standard 10+1 with 50% or above or Standard 10+2 at 55% or above.
Rest of the World:
International students are expected to demonstrate that they have a good level of written and spoken English with a recommended minimum IELTS (or equivalent) score of 5.0 or submit their English subject test scores.
Students without the above qualifications may be considered based on APEL (Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning) You will be required to submit a portfolio and be interviewed.
